The European territorial cooperation is the possibility to set up projects between partners from different European countries. Together these operators focus on common needs to find common solutions. Every year on September 21st, we celebrate the European cooperation day. It is the occasion to explain the impact of these projects for the citizens.
What is the European cooperation day and where does it take place?
The European cooperation day is a celebration of the regions that work together. It is based on the organisation of events to involve people in the local community and show how the cross-border cooperation improves life in and around Europe. Local events take place across Europe and neighbouring countries around September 21st every year.
Who organises the local events and what does these events look like? The Interreg and IEVP programs and projects organise local events aiming at putting the territorial cooperation in the spotlight. Bike rides, projects exhibition, circus shows, the possibilities are endless!
Who coordinates this initiative? The Interreg INTERACT program coordinates this campaign with the support of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Regional Committee.
